Kay Brodecky's mom passed away and I want to express my heart felt prayers to Kay and her family. Below is from the Beacon Journal.

Lauretta Brodecky, 88, passed away on March 8, 2013.

She was born in Clarkson, Nebr. and graduated from Clarkson High School. She spent her early days working in Omaha, Nebr. She married her High School sweetheart, Joseph and was married for 66 years. They moved to Akron, Ohio in January, 1949. Lauretta was a dedicated worker and mother, raising four children. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the St. Matthew Council of Catholic Women. Lauretta was an avid reader and a very dedicated golfer. She loved to travel and play Bridge with her many friends.

Lauretta is survived by her husband, Joseph; sister, Marcella Prokop, of Fremont, Nebr.; daughters, Gail (Greg) Love, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kay Taylor, of Orlando, Fla., Christine (Earl) Smith, of Pell City, Ala.; son, Mark (Annette) Brodecky, of Green, Ohio; grandchildren, Austin and Nathan Love, Steven and Amy Brodecky, Emily, Andrew, and Tyler Eickmann, Lillian Smith, Ryan Taylor and his friend, Denise.

Cremation will take place. Calling hours will be Friday, March 15, 5 to 8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Church, 2603 Benton St., Akron, on Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m., Fr. Mike Williamson officiating. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church or to the Akron General Visiting Service Hospice on Ridgewood Rd. Now that 2013 is here, it's time for the reunion committe to start working of our 45th Reunion. We will be getting together soon to start the planning process. We will either be emailing or sending letters out to get input on certain details. Here's hoping for an amazing 45th reunion in 2014.
